I have a session in two days when I will be recording a string trio of Violin, Viola and Cello. What are some recommended microphones and placements? Also is there a suggestion on how to set up the room. Our studio at school is about 30 by 15ft with standard height ceilings. I was thinking of a Y shape where each  musician is facing an Omni in the center. I also plan on using a large diaphragm condenser 1-2ft from the Cello, just off center. Similar micing set up but small diaphragm condensers on the Viola and Violin. We have nice wooden diffusers and some foam blocks that i would use to separate each musician. What do you guys think?
