Analysis of the Effects of Nonlinear Elements Upon the Performance of a Back-Enclosed, Direct Radiator Loudspeaker Mechanism

Document Thumbnail

A theoretical analysis of the nonlinear suspension and the nonlinear compliance of the air in the cabinet of a loudspeaker has been carried out. The results of the analysis have been applied to the development of a back-enclosed, direct radiator loudspeaker with low distortion. The use of the accordian direct radiator loudspeaker mechanism in a back-enclosed cabinet provides a loudspeaker with low nonlinear distortion and wide frequency range in a relatively small enclosure.
