There appears to be no available expression for the reactive (mass) term in the acoustic impedance of long baffled strip radiators, and the literature contains contradictory graphical data on both the real and the imaginary parts. Reliable data are important for the proper electroacoustic design of ribbon transducers, and also potentially for other long, narrow, low-mass planar radiators, both electrostatic and electromagnetic. Analytical expressions and graphical data are presented for the resistive and reactive parts of the acoustic load on an infinite baffled strip radiator.
