Optimizing the Voice-Coil-Airgap Geometry for Maximum Loudspeaker Motor Strength

The maximum motor strength of a loudspeaker is not attained with a voice-coil height equal to the airgap height. A slightly overhung coil-gap geometry can improve the efficiency of the loudspeaker motor. The loudspeaker designer is given a method to manager better the compromixe between XMAX and the loudspeaker motor strength and the related parameters.
