Acoustically closed headsets provide good attenuation of environmental noise in the upper frequency range, while low-frequency components cannot be effectively attenuated by passive means. A headset has been developed which also provides good attenuation in the lower frequency range by means of active noise reduction. Besides the principle of operation, some mobile applications of the system and first measurement results are presented.
