Two phenomena connected with the generation of acoustic waves by a loudspeaker diaphragm are considered: 1) the effect of moving boundary conditions, traditionally called the Doppler effect, and 2) the effect of nonlinear acoustic wave propagation. It is shown that distortions caused by moving boundary conditions are dominant in a low-frequency range. An improved expression is derived for the coefficient of Doppler-type distortions, and an idea for an anti-Dopper filter is presented.
