Computer control has become a dominant issue in our industry, coinciding with the public's fervor over the information superhighway and the commercailization of digital media technologies. The audio industry is facing a major transformation from traditional analog-based systems, to systems that integrate powerful new digital inforjation technolgies. : This article explores how computer control might change the implementation and operation of future sound systems, and how we can influence the process of this transformation.
