Modern digital electronic reverberators make it possible to produce programmable early reflections. Problems with regard to the proper selection of early reflection delays and levels have not been solved definitively. New cross-correlation criteria of the quality of artificial reverberation are proposed, having been verified experimentally. The criteria permit assessing the reverberator program structure with regard to the properties of the processed signal. A method for determining the quality of artificial reverberation based on the proposed criteria is presented and discussed.
