A distinct modification of the square-wave/sine (SQ/S) and triangle/sine (TR/S) transient intermodulation distortion measurement method is described. A new test signal better resembles real-life signals and acquires both dynamic and static nonlinear distortions simultaneously. Test signal properties are analyzed and measurement results are compared with other methods for different types of nonlinearities. Feasible test instrumentation is discussed.
