Production of Spatially Limited "Diffuse" Sound Field in an Anechoic Room

Document Thumbnail

Diffuse-field measurements are usually carried out in reverberation chambers. However, often it would be very helpful to have a method that allows generating an artificial and spatially limited "diffuse" field in an anechoic room. Such a field has been realized using a system of eight independent sound sources uniformly distributed over a sphere surrounding the regions of interest. Experimental results are presented and discussed.
