Many factors necessary for long-term storage of audio tape are described, including a cool, dry environment and proper recorder maintenance. Several suggestions are given for measures to porolong the life of audio tape, as well as measures to use in recovering data when tape has suffered major damage. Recommendations are made for storing tape both in a home and in an archival environment.
