Most amplifiers today are based on designs that exhibit low distortion. Feedforward and feedback schemes have been suggested to refine the circuit performance further, each possessing inherent advantages and drawbacks. A method is presented which provides an improvement in performance by modulating the loop gain of a feedback amplifier. Following a theoretical discussion are experimental results that test the theory.
