Fuzzy Distortion in Analog Amplifiers: A Limit to Information Transmission?

A theoretical model is introduced that attempts to emulate a low-level distortion mechanism inherent in bipolar junction transistor amplifiers and, as a consequence, suggests a low-level bound to the transmission of fine signal detail. The model give positive support to the low-feedback school of design and proposes circuit techniques for maximizing signal transparency. The design principles have particular relevance to low-level signal stages, but should also find an association with all classes of amplifiers.
