It was shown earlier that the Wigner distribution is a valuable tool for analyzing transient distortion of filters, loudspeakers, and loudspeaker combinations. Some further applications of the Wigner distribution to the evaluation of loudspeaker transient behavior are reported. The first topic is the influence of the geometry of a radiator on its transient response. The geometrics discussed are the plane, cone-shaped, and dome-shaped radiators. Also dealt with is the influence of some known crossover filters on the on-axis and directional transient behavior of a combination of coincident and noncoincident drivers.
