Timbre memory and sensitivity to timbre changes are two important factors that influence the career of a sound engineer. Both skills can be developed successfully by training on a systematic basis. A special course in timbre perception, called timbre solfeggio, is given in the Sound Recording Department at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland.
