An in-depth time delay spectrometry study of a multidesktop distributed sound system in a 131 000-ft(3) [3668-m(3)] room has been made. The validity of the fusion principle for arrivals from nearby desktop loudspeakers is questioned. The differences were neutralized by electronic delays of approximately 5 and 10 ms with improved articulation and an apparent reduction in RT(60). Subsequent research supports this argument. Hard data and spectrograms are presented.
