Acoustic Radiation of a Horn Loudspeaker by the Finite Element Method—A Consideration of the Acoustic Characteristic of Horns

Document Thumbnail

Acoustical characteristics of an axisymmetric horn are calculated by applying the finite-element method to the acoustic cavity of a horn mounted in a rigid infinite baffle. Acoustic radiation to the half infinite space is treated analytically in terms of the velocity potential. Experimental validity of the calculated characteristics is given for a horn loudspeaker in far-field sound pressure responses.
