Augmented Passive Radiator Loudspeaker Systems, Part 2

Document Thumbnail

The design procedure for augmented passive-radiator systems is similar to that for both vented-box and drone-cone systems. For a given system compliance ratio, the augmented passive-radiator requires a driver with somewhat lower Q and higher compliance than other systems. The augmented passive-radiator principle is applicable to all sizes of enclosure, and its application is illustrated by specific examples. The appendix presents a simple method for synthesizing augmented passive-radiator alignments and a method for generating new families of alignments from vented-box or drone-cone alignments.
