A loudspeaker system designed and implemented using acoustic impulse response as obtained by cross-correlation techniques is described. Each element which consists of a selected transducer and complementary active filter-amplifier contributes to the desired overall response of the system. Bucket brigade delay lines are used to adjust delays of the midrange and tweeter units to properly complement the woofer to attain an acoustic impulse response which closely approximates that of an electrical filter network of the same bandwidth and skirt characteristics.
