The use of boron as the diaphragm material for a high-frequency dome loudspeaker is discussed. To form the diaphragm, a thin film of boron is prepared on a titanium substrate by physical vapor deposition. Details are given of the diaphragm growing method and the performance of the completed dome tweeter.
