The classic problem in the design of piezoelectric horn tweeters has always been the coupling to the high-impedance driver. A large conical diaphragm helps this situation. However, in a horn with a small throat area, phase cancellations occur. This new horn solves this problem with a throat opening in the shape of thin radial slots which flare open into tapered flutes, eliminating the need for a phase correction plug.
