The physical size of an air-cored inductor is not determined by its inductance byt by L/R, the ratio of its inductance to its series resistance. Once the shape is set for a coil, the size will be the same for the same L/R whether it is 1 mH with 1(symbol), 2 mH or 1H with 1000 (symbol). This simple fact is widely known. Howver, it leads to other conclusions which are not so widely understood but are of particular interest in making coils economically and optimizing their use.
