Experimental Electronic Music Devices Employing Walsh Functions

Document Thumbnail

The complete orthonormal set of Walsh functions is used to generate periodic waveforms and envelope shapes for an additive synthesis electronic music device. The Walsh functions, easily produced by digital circuitry, can be used to generate banks of harmonic and nonharmonic waveforms. A second Walsh function generator forms the basis of a digital envcelope controller which can produce a wide variety of simultaneous envelope shapes.
