Analysis shows that for a given driver, the cutoff frequency of closed-box systems often decreass with box volume after an initial drop instead of decreasing continuously. The variation observed, however, is rather small. For a fixed driver the system efficiency is also independent of box volume. Therefore, for closed-box systems using a given driver, the enclosure volume is decided mainly on the basis of response shape and power handling capacity rather than cutoff frequency or efficiency.
