Extending Magnetic Head Life by Lapping Techniques

Tape head lapping or resurfacing increases the life of heads, allowing them to operate at optimum performance until they are finally worn out completely. Some fallacies concerned with head lapping are disposed of, and the advantages of the procedure are pointed out.
