The design and construction of sound isolated recording studios often involves considerable time and expense that may be beyond the financial means of small recording companies. The use of prefabricated acoustical panels to form complete room enclosure provides a quick and economical method of construction. For example, a 40 foot by 28 foot room can be assembled by a team of 6 men in less time than one week's time. Further benefits are derived from this system of construction as room enclosures can be disassembled, modified, and reassembled with no loss in acoustical performance. This paper describes the techniques of construction and the acoustical performance available from such a system.
