Transportation Noise Sources

The noise generated by transportation systems (aircraft, road traffic, and railroads) is discussed. In particular, those characteristics that determine urban noise exposure and community annoyance are included, and measurement and analysis requirements reviewed. Current work and future techniques to reduce transportation noise are discussed.
