Wisdom and Witchcraft of Old Wives' Tales About Woofer Baffles

Reading loudspeaker advertisements, catalogs, and specifications leads one to believe that the baffle design procedure for a woofer is largely in the category of witchcraft and old wives' tales. An attempt is made to distinguish the wisdom from witchcraft in these old wives' tales by citing the hard facts learned from a computer study of the baffle problems for some twenty different woofers.
