Air propagation nonlinear distortion inherent in large horn arrays has been researched. The influence of distance, frequency, and sound pressure level on the distortion has been investigated. Propagation distortion can exceed the air-related distortion generated within multiple horn loudspeaker arrays. The mutual position of horn arrays strongly effects the level of propagation intermodulation distortion. A survey of the theory of propagation distortion is presented.446
