DVD-Audio specifications have been established to be a global standard for the next generation of audio media, satisfying demands from the recording industry, hardware manufacturers, and other groups worldwide. DVD-Audio provides a music carrier not only for high-quality and multichannel music, but also for a variety of value-added contents to supplement a user's audio experience. An outline and the major functions or features offered by DVD-Audio specifications are presented.
