A Practical Ear Enclosure with Selectively Coupled Volume

Document Thumbnail

A previous paper by the author described certain improvements in low frequency attenuation of a circumaural ear enclosure by means of a Helmholtz absorber in the form of an added volume selectively coupled to the ear enclosure. This paper describes a practical embodiment, and discusses some acoustical and mechanical problems associated with selectively coupled volumes.
