Acoustics of Hearing Aids Employing Non-Linear Signal Filtering and Waveguide Modeling

Czyzewski, Sound Engineering Department, Technical University of Gdansk, Gdansk, Poland; and Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, Warsaw, Poland: A hearing aid model has been designed and used to perform computer simulations, such as signal processing (amplification, filtering and compression) as well as transmitting sound to the ear by the acoustical waveguide. The method and some results of the simulations are presented, which are applicable to the process of fitting the hearing aid to the individual patient's needs.:
