Distributed mode loudspeakers (DML) were used in a -proof of concept- automotive audio system. The high-performance 5.1-channel audio and video system utilizes a single woofer and five DML panels in a conventional 3/2 configuration. The unique design options and challenges presented by DMLs are discussed.:
