Pop Measurement, Low-Frequency Response and Microphone Construction

Document Thumbnail

The standard IEC 60268-4 proposes a simplified measurement method for pop sensitivity of microphones. Results based on this method are given. Pop sensitivity depends to a large extent on low frequency response and construction parameters of the microphone. Methods of reducing pop sensitivity in real-life use, e.g. pop screens and wind screens, are discussed quantitatively.
