This paper describes a new measurement system for the evaluation of the objective performance of a car audio apparatus. The system makes use of a 4-channel sound board fitted in a low-cost PC, which drives separately the four loudspeaker sections of the car. The excitation signal is a periodic maximum length sequence. The response of the system is sampled simultaneously with two binaural dummy heads. The complete test takes less than one minute, thanks to a software specifically developed for the task.
