Design aspects of an all-digital open-loop power amplifier system are discussed and measurement results of a practical implementation are shown. THD and noise performance comparable to that of high quality class B amplifiers and low level D/A converters, respectively, are obtained. The described technology makes it possible to produce all-digital audio amplifiers with adequate performance for almost any application.
