A technique of 3-D audio synthesis is proposed using a multi-loudspeaker array (MLA) that embeds a novel pair-wise crosstalk cancellation algorithm. The directional clues inherent in an MLA are further enhanced with HRTF derived information to create a more robust sonic illusion. A range of loudspeaker subtended angles and configurations are investigated to ascertain the optimum loudspeaker locations.
