A high efficiency audio amplifier is proposed which consists of a linear amplifier and a switching amplifier in bridge configuration. The linear amplifier guarantees a low distortion. A common mode output voltage control circuit ensures that the linear amplifier has a low dissipation, resulting in a high total system efficiency
