Development of AC-3 Digital Audio Encoder

Document Thumbnail

AC-3 Digital Audio Compression is a psychoacoustically-based compression technology, designed for efficient coding of multichannel audio for excellent quality. The work reported here deals with the algorithms developed for the design of an efficient dual channel AC-3 encoder for real-time operation. In particular two algorithms-Exponent Coding Strategy using Neural Network Model and Coupling Band Structure Design-have been described in detail.
