A test tape dedicated for audio control of television programs is presented by the author. The tape, distributed on Beta SP and Digital Beta format to more than 100 French companies (broadcasters and production companies), is intended to improve sound quality of TV programs in mono, stereo, and "Dolby surround." It includes test signals for checking the alignments and set-ups, a review of international recommendations about audio procedures, and a series of 21 illustrated audio defects providing an identified vocabulary.
