There has been much discussion regarding the sound quality testing of low bit-rate audio coders. An equally vexing problem is the verification of audio encoder implementations. The nature of low bit-rate coders makes it difficult to differentiate between encoder artifacts and implementation errors. In this paper we propose a method for the verification of perceptual audio coder implementations.
