Peak modulation control is easily accomplished in the analog domain. The digital counterpart requires sophisticated design, as sampling rate, dynamics generated aliasing distortion, and the transmission medium play an important part. If specific aspects of the digital peak limiter design are not acknowledged, problems of overshoot and self-generated aliasing distortion will result. Presented is a method to eliminate this problem.
