From Single Carrier Sound Archive to BWF Online Archive - A New Optimized Workstation Concept

Document Thumbnail

For safeguarding and restoration of single carrier sound archives to platform independent 'eternal' Broadcast Wave Format files stored in online robotic archives an automized quality: supervising scalable audio workstation was developed. The great thing about it is that the: digitized sound signal together with all the interesting additional information, such as quality protocol, cue sheet, coding history, etc. is stored in the BWF file. The DAW was designed as an 'intelligent' partner, to assist the sound operator during the transfer from the analogue to the digital domain and relieves him from time- and money-consuming monotonic work.
