This paper shows how the frequency response of the sound from a monitoring loudspeaker in a control room is affected by the presence of specular or diffuse early reflections. It will first discuss the effect of specular and diffuse early reflections on the frequency response using a simple theoretical model. It will then present simulated results and discuss the results.
