The paper presents a 24-bit digital off-line audio analyzer with an additional analog interface. The analyzer software is built on the MATLAB numeric computing environment. Linear system characteristics are analyzed in time domain and frequency domain by parametric and nonparametric methods. Nonlinear system characteristics are analyzed by classical methods as well as statistical modeling. Novelties are the optimum test signals, block processing of test and response signals and advanced statistical data processing.
