This paper presents a system-level implementation of the Dolby Digital Consumer Encoder using the Motorola DSP56362 digital signal processor. Commercial applications of this technology, the encoder capabilities and operations, the DSP resources required to implement the encoder, and the system-level implementation are discussed.
