Closed and Vented Loudspeaker Enclosures as Causes of Nonlinearity

Document Thumbnail

The set of two differential equations of second order corresponding to the equivalent electrical circuit of the loudspeaker loaded by vented enclosure was analyzed in the research. The nonlinearity was introduced into equivalent stiffness (stiffness of suspensions and loudspeaker enclosure) and into the equation of electromechanical coupling coefficient B1. Results of the modeling were compared with analog results of the closed box. The goal of the research was to investigate the influence of the loudspeaker enclosure on total nonlinear properties of the radiator. The MATHCAD worksheets for calculations of frequency characteristics of pressure and nonlinearity coefficient and for analysis of steady-state reaction on sinusoidal excitation are presented.
