A Novel Crossover Delay PWM Amplifier

Document Thumbnail

This paper presents the design and results of a novel crossover delay (COD) PWM digital amplifier operated with a switching frequency of 1.41 MHz, corresponding to a 32-times oversampling ratio. The major problems associated with the PWM digital power amplifier are: 1) the presence of the current spike, and 2) the practical implementation of the high-frequency driver circuits. The new topology makes use of the parasitic elements to perform zero-voltage soft switching in order to solve these problems.
