A model based on the time domain description of diffraction is presented. An edge of arbitrary shape is divided into multiple sharp edges and is computed using a fractional delay model. The successive diffractions are combined using a modified Kelly-Lochbaum model, yielding an IIR filtered description of the diffraction, from which frequency response and other characteristics can be computed.
