The use of the FFT to efficiently design and implement linear phase crossover filters is addressed. A frequency sampling method is employed to design the filters and the fast convolution technique to implement them. In this way, crossover filters having nearly ideal characteristics can be realized. Furthermore, the combination of loudspeaker equalization and crossover filter implementation is discussed. The algorithms have been implemented on a DSP56001.
